Author Information

  • Mark Driscoll (1970–) was the preaching and speaking pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, Washington. From 1996–2014, Driscoll led Mars Hill from a small Bible study group to a large multisite church.

    Driscoll is a founder of The Resurgence, an online resource for missional theology. Driscoll also founded the Acts 29 Network, a vast group of pastors around the world dedicated to planting and equipping churches.

    Mark Driscoll’s preaching and the ministry of Mars Hill Church have been profiled in the Seattle Times, the New York Times, ABC’s Nightline, and countless other media outlets. He has also authored or coauthored numerous books, including Trial: 8 Witnesses from 1 & 2 Peter and Vintage Church. Driscoll was also featured in the March–April 2009 issue of Bible Study Magazine.

  • In addition to his three decades of educational ministry at Western Seminary, Gerry Breshears has taught at numerous Bible colleges and seminaries around the world, in countries such as Lebanon, Ukraine, Netherlands, Taiwan, Poland, Canada, and the Philippines. He has also been published in numerous magazines and scholarly journals, including the Journal of Psychology & Theologyand Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society. Dr. Breshears is also the former president of the Evangelical Theological Society and continues to serve on the regional executive committee of that organization. He has appeared on various radio and television programs numerous times. Dr. Breshears serves as a preaching elder at Grace Community Church. He and his wife, Sherry, have been married since 1968 and have two sons, one daughter, and are enjoying their season of life as grandparents.
