I finally started reading this one. Anyone who has studied the O.T. will find this all pretty basic info. The author makes some big assumptions in my opinion - for example "When Joseph forgave his brothers, he was picturing the future work of Jesus, which even then was working in Joseph, by the Spirit of Jesus." I do not believe Joseph was thinking of the coming savior when forgiving his brothers. I think he was forgiving his brothers. While I think it is good to encourage people to read the O.T. and see who God is, I find a number of the authors points a bit of a stretch. Such as - Ruth should be called the book of Boaz and we should be reading it to see how Jesus is like Boaz. I would rate the book a solid 'Meh', I could take it or leave it. There's a lot about his journey to discover Jesus in the O.T. but it's all pretty basic info after that.
